Storyline:
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead
after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has
survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet.
With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and
spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work
tirelessly to bring "the Martian" home, while his crewmates
concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. As these
stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root
for Watney's safe return.
The Martian Movies Reviews
First
half of the movie was good. A breath of fresh air exploring a theme of a
man surviving on his own - a feeling that is kinda forgotten for
civilized people. ...
But then starts series of the most boring and stupid clichés Hollywood spawned. They take about 1.5 hr of the total 2.5.
It's not just "ok nothing new here", it's about "ok, how can we make this movie even more mediocre?".
Cliché about people people in command center celebrating every successful thing? You got it!
Cliché about crowd on the streets celebrating a space flight (what they actually never do)? Here you go!
Really, they failed miserably with such a great theme, such a shame.
If not the first hour I'd voted 2 with no doubt.
